Welcome to Urban Artifacts... a curated mix of 20th century antiques and vintage collectibles, authentic Peoria area souvenirs and quirky memorabilia. Urban Artifacts opened as a bricks and mortar shop in August of 2012 as a culmination of Jon and Angie Walker's combined inspiration and dreams. However, the story actually began in 1976 when Jon Walker bought his first Coke sign at age 8. Growing up going to auctions and flea markets with grandparents, Jon learned, first hand, the fine art of collecting, buying and selling second hand artifacts, including a passion for antique advertising and dimensional signage.
With Angie’s experience and passion for art, advertising, design, illustration and signage, working together to create the shop has been a natural partnership and the fulfillment of a mutual love for authentic nostalgia, classic design and memorabilia of all kinds.
The shop is located in a renovated bread bakery building that houses a variety of artist studios and eclectic, one-of-a-kind shops. We invite you to see a sampling of our products on line and look forward to meeting you in the shop where the only thing you can expect, is the unexpected.
